Chairwoman of the Laws and Rules, Governmental Services Committee, Tracey A. Bartels, and Deputy Chair Kevin Roberts offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Board of Elections; and
WHEREAS, the Ulster County Board of Elections will incur additional expenses for early voting for the 2021 election year; and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary for the Ulster County Board of Elections to pay temporary staff, purchase items for the early voting sites for printing, poll site rental, and any other expenses that may arise; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign a grant agreement in the amount of $25,490.00, and amendments thereto, with the NYS Board of Elections to obtain Early Voting Expansion Grant Program funds to offset Early Voting expenses during the 2021 New York State elections held on June 12, 2021 to June 20, 2021 and October 23, 2021 to October 31, 2021, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the 2021 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
AA-1450-1176-4600-4660 Other Misc Contractual $25,490.00
AA-1450-1176-3300-3089 State Aid $25,490.00
and move its adoption.
