Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services Committee, James Delaune, and Deputy Chair Thomas Corcoran offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Office for the Aging; and

 

            WHEREAS, the New York State Office for the Aging has notified Ulster County that it is allocating Federal stimulus funding provided through the American Rescue Plan in the amount of $715,412.00; and

 

            WHEREAS, under the New York State’s Major Disaster Declaration made in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the American Rescue Plan funding can be used for any eligible service to assist Ulster County senior citizens; and once the Major Disaster Declaration is lifted, the allowable services under each portion of the stimulus funding will be the same as the allowable services under the corresponding parts of the Older Americans Act Title III funding; and

 

            WHEREAS, the stimulus funds may be used from April 1, 2021 through September 30, 2024; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to reflect the increased funding, the Ulster County Office for the Aging would like to amend its 2021 Ulster County Budget by $142,188.00 to include a portion of the funds from the American Rescue Plan; and

 

            WHEREAS, reimbursement for County expenditures begins immediately due to NYSOFA foregoing a formal application process for these stimulus programs, allowing Ulster County Office for the Aging to be reimbursed right away; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of the Office for the Aging requests the 2021 Ulster County Budget be amended in order to utilize this additional funding; now, therefore be it

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

            RESOLVED, that the 2021 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
