Referred to: The Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services Committee (Chairman Delaune and Legislators Corcoran, Criswell, Parete, and Wawro), The Public Works and Capital Projects Committee (Chairman Fabiano and Legislators Cahill, Greene, Heppner, and Litts), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairman Gavaris and Legislators Archer, Bartels, Haynes, Maio, Parete, Ronk, and Walter)
Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services Committee, James Delaune, and Deputy Chair Thomas Corcoran, offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of Ulster County Community College; and
WHEREAS, the 2021-2026 Capital Improvement Program included funding of $6,275,000 for site work improvements, of which $1,000,000 is for HVAC Upgrades; and
WHEREAS, SUNY Ulster has many building where HVAC system is either nonexistent, malfunctioning or needs to be an updated due to inefficiencies; and SUNY Ulster is looking for an assessment and upgrades to install and replace all the HVAC systems in all of the buildings across campus; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 216 dated May 21, 2019 established capital project No. 542 SUNY Ulster - HVAC Upgrades Campus-wide; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 563, dated December 18, 2019, approved the execution of a contract with S&O Construction Services, Inc. in the amount of $119,450 for the replacement of HVAC unit in Burroughs Hall, and
WHEREAS, Ulster County Resolution No. 271, dated August 18, 2020, approved the execution of a contract with T. McElligott, Inc. in the amount of $79,500 for the installation of the new HVAC unit in Vanderlyn Hall, and
WHEREAS, SUNY Ulster BOT Resolution No. 21-04-29, dated April 20, 2021, approved an increase in funding to the Capital Project 542 – HVAC Upgrades Campus-wide in the amount of $801,050 for design and construction services of the next phase of HVAC replacements, including Hardenbergh Hall, and
WHEREAS, the $801,050 cost for design and construction services of the Hardenbergh Hall HVAC unit, would be divided as follows: $400,525 State and $400,525 Ulster County; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, the Ulster County Legislature hereby approves an increase in funding in the amount of $801,050 for design and construction services of the Hardenbergh Hall HVAC unit related to the Capital Project No. 542- HVAC Upgrades Campus-wide – Ulster County Community College; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that 2021 Ulster County Capital Fund Budget is hereby amended as follows:
