RESOLUTION TEXT +-
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Office for the Aging; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Office for the Aging has notified Ulster County that it is allocating federal stimulus funding provided through the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) in the amount of $524,764; and
WHEREAS, under the New York State’s Major Disaster Declaration made in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the stimulus funding can be used to assist Ulster County senior citizens who were not able to leave their residences to obtain the nutritional meals, food and supplies they need;
WHEREAS, the stimulus funds may be used from March 20, 2020 through September 20, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the Ulster County Office for the Aging would like to amend its food line in the 2020 Ulster County Budget by $170,000.00 to include a portion of the stimulus funds to provide temporary food services to Ulster County senior citizens due to COVID-19; and
WHEREAS, reimbursement for County expenditures begins immediately due to NYSOFA foregoing a formal application process for these stimulus programs, allowing Ulster County Office for the Aging to be reimbursed right away; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Office for the Aging requests the 2020 Ulster County Budget be amended in order to utilize this additional funding; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the 2020 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
INCREASE AMOUNT
AA.6772.2865-3400.4772 Federal Aid, OFA $170,000.00
