Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services Committee, James Delaune, and Deputy Chair Thomas Corcoran, offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Office for the Aging; and

 

WHEREAS, the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) has notified Ulster County that funding for the 2020-2021 Age-Friendly Planning Program is available in the amount of $79,979.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the goal of the NYSOFA Age-Friendly Planning Program is to help communities become healthier and more age friendly. This will include incorporating age-friendly and healthy community principles into all relevant policies, plan, ordinances and programs; and

 

WHEREAS, the term for the NYSOFA Age-Friendly Planning Program is January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2021; and

 

WHEREAS, if the County’s application is approved, the funds will be used to reimburse the County for age-friendly planning expenditures incurred by the Ulster County Office for the Aging, including salaries and benefits; and

 

WHEREAS, reimbursement for County expenditures will be available after submission by the County, and approval by the NYSOFA, of an application, standard assurances, program narratives and program budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of the Office for the Aging requests the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute the NYSOFA Age-Friendly Planning Program Application, with required assurances, and any amendments thereto; now, therefore, be it

 

 

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the application with required assurances, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Office for the Aging for the Age-Friendly Planning Program, for the term beginning January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2021, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

 

and moves its adoption.
