Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Acting County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 

          WHEREAS, flooding triggered by heavy rain and melting snow events cause water to pool and encompass a large section of the parking lot due to a poor and undersized drainage system; and

 

          WHEREAS, an inspection of the parking lot drainage system has revealed signs of undersized catch basins and deteriorated pipe sections; and 

 

          WHEREAS, this project will fund essential water control features and additional catch basins will be interconnected for ideal water drainage and prevent further flooding in the Courthouse parking lot to effectively convey runoff; and

 

          WHEREAS, the Adopted 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program includes the amount of $110,000.00 for the stormwater drainage improvement drainage surrounding the Ulster County Courthouse; and

 

          WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project No. 647 be established and funded in the amount of $182,600.00; and

 

          WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 118 dated April 20, 2010 the County of Ulster adopted a Type II List in accordance 6 NYCRR Part 617.5(b) of the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA); now, therefore be it

 

          RESOLVED, the Ulster County Legislature hereby determines, pursuant to its adopted SEQRA Type II List, that the Project constitutes a Type II action as defined under Section 2.2.1, and in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617.5(a) of SEQRA, the Project will not have a significant impact on the environment and no further determination or procedure under SEQRA is required; and, be it further 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the 2023-2028 Ulster County Capital Improvement Program is amended as follows:

and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that Capital Project Nos. 647 for the Ulster County Courthouse Stormwater Drainage be established as follows:

and, be it further

 

            RESOLVED, that the 2023 Ulster County Capital Fund budget is hereby amended as follows:
