Referred to: The Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee (Chairwoman Petit and Legislators Fabiano, Litts, Nolan, and Stewart)
Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT); and
WHEREAS, Ulster County is a designated recipient of funding through the Federal Transit Administration and New York State Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, updating this policy will ensure that UCAT is in compliance with all Federal and State regulations that are required for continuing to receive funding from both Federal and State Funding sources; and
WHEREAS, establishing an updated substance abuse policy will ensure that the rules for compliance with our funding opportunities and driver programs are consistently enforced and will help maintain and enhance the County’s reputation in running a safe transit system; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby supports updating the Substance Abuse Policy; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the “Ulster County Area Transit Substance Abuse Policy” is hereby adopted as attached hereto as Exhibit A,
and moves its adoption.
