Referred to: The Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee (Chairman Uchitelle and Legislators Hansut, Heppner, Hewitt, and Lopez), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairman Gavaris and Legislators Cahill, Fabiano, Ronk, and Walter)
Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Abe Uchitelle, and Deputy Chair Gina Hansut offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Probation; and
WHEREAS, the department has received notification from the New York State Office for Prevention of Domestic Violence (OPDV) for an award from the Pandemic Emergency Assistance Fund to the Ulster County Crime Victim Assistance Program, Department of Probation; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Probation administers the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), which aids victims and witnesses of crime; and
WHEREAS,the funding will provide eligible domestic violence survivors in Ulster County (and their children) with short term, non-recurrent expenses related to housing and essential needs; and
WHEREAS, in order to reflect the increased funding an amendment of the 2022 budget is necessary; and
WHEREAS, no County contribution or matching funding is required; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the 2022 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
