Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Abe Uchitelle, and Deputy Chair Gina Hansut offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management has received notification from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding the 2020 Statewide Interoperable Communications Grant (SICG); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this program is to make necessary improvements and provide for sustainment of Land Mobile Radio Systems (LMR), implementation and maintenance of components supporting interoperability, continuous training and exercise, sustainment and further development of the governance structure; and
WHEREAS, the County Executive and the Director of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management requests that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for participation in the 2020 Statewide Interoperable Communications Grant (SICG), for the period beginning January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2023, in the amount of $540,609.00; and
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for participation in the 2020 Statewide Interoperable Communications Grant (SICG), for the period beginning January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2022, in the amount of $540,609.00, as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified by the County Attorney,
and moves its adoption.
