Referred to: The Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee (Chairwoman Petit and Legislators Fabiano, Litts, Nolan, and Stewart), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairman Gavaris and Legislators Cahill, Fabiano, Ronk, and Walter)
Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, the project expenditures in the amount of $1,550,000.00 for the County Vehicle Fleet, were approved in the 2022 – 2027 Capital Program; and
WHEREAS, these fleet acquisitions are needed to replace existing vehicles because of extensive rust and corrosion and as such are not cost effective to repair, and
WHEREAS, the project is established to purchase a total of 26 vehicles: ten vehicles for the Sheriff’s Office (Criminal Division), three vehicles for DSS, three vehicles for Probation, one vehicle for DA’s Office, three vehicles for OFA, six vehicles for B&G; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project No. 617 be established and funded; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the 2022-2027 Ulster County Capital Improvement Program is amended as follows:
INCREASE AMOUNT
2022 Central Auto Vehicles $50,000.00
and, be it further
RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 617 for the purchase of replacement of County vehicles during the year 2022 be established as follows:
CREATE AMOUNT
Capital Project No. 617 Central Auto Vehicles $1,600,000.00
and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the 2022 Ulster County Capital Fund budget is hereby amended as follows:
INCREASE AMOUNT
HH.1997.0617-2100.2140 Capital Project No. 617 $1,600,000.00
