Referred to: The Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning and Transit Committee (Chairman Cahill and Legislators Archer, Corcoran, Delaune, Litts, Maio, and Uchitelle), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairman Gavaris and Legislators Archer, Bartels, Haynes, Maio, Parete, Ronk, and Walter)
Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit Committee, Brian B. Cahill, and Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Transportation; and
WHEREAS, funding is provided annually by NYSDOT to ensure continuing public transit service connecting Ulster and Dutchess Counties, including service to the Metro-North train station, for a period of one year, and expanding service in the NYS Route 9W corridor with the Kingston to Poughkeepsie LINK; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Transportation has received notification that the New York State Department of Transportation will reimburse eligible costs not to exceed $360,000; and
WHEREAS, UCAT has budgeted $360,000.00 of this aid in the 2022 budget and expects to apply for reimbursement of its costs equal to $360,000; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Ulster County Area Transit requests the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute an agreement with the New York State Department of Transportation (project ID# 8824.16) for the term January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022 in an amount not to exceed $360,000.00; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Department of Transportation to accept reimbursement for the operation of the LINK service (Project ID Number 8824.16 including Saturday Service in an amount not to exceed $360,000.00, in form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,
and move its adoption.
