Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and Deputy Chair Manna Jo Greene offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, approximately 350 linear feet of the westbound travel lane of New Salem Road (C.R. 57) just west of the intersection with Lily Lane in the Town of Esopus has experienced excessive settlement; and

WHEREAS, this project intends to use in-house labor to repair the deficiencies; and

WHEREAS, soil borings and geotechnical analysis were completed in 2019; and

WHEREAS, property owners have been contacted and the embankment is to be repaired by placing and compacting fill to lessen the embankment steepness; and

          WHEREAS, the project expenditures in the amount of $150,000.00 for the New Salem Road Stabilization, were approved in the 2021 – 2026 Capital Program; and

          WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project No. 606 be established and funded for materials; now, therefore be it

          RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 606 for the Salem Road Stabilization be established as follows:

RESOLVED, that the 2021 Ulster County Capital Fund budget is hereby amended as follows:
