Chairman of the Legislature, David B. Donaldson, and Chairwoman of the Laws and Rules, Governmental Services Committee, Tracey A. Bartels, offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Department of Health has received award notification from the National Association of County and City Health Official’s Implementing Opioid Overdose Prevention Strategies at the Local Level Grant in the amount of $497.359 to provide financial and technical assistance to local governments in an effort to identify, respond to, treat and support those impacted by opioids, stimulants and other illicit drugs of abuse, and to prevent initiation of substance use among youth and young adults; and

 

WHEREAS, the awarded funds are to be used over an eighteen-month term; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Department of Health has requested that the Chair be authorized to accept and execute the award and contract provided by the National Association of County and City Health Officials, Implementing Opioid Overdose Prevention Strategies at the Local Level grant; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to reflect the increased funding, an amendment of the 2021 budget is necessary; and

 

WHEREAS, there is no increase in County contribution as a result of these modifications; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to accept and sign the award and contract provided by the National Association of County and City Health Official’s Implementing Opioid Overdose Prevention Strategies at the Local level Grant in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or modified with the approval of the County Attorney and Legislative Counsel; and, be it further

 

 

RESOLVED, the Ulster County 2021 budget shall be amended as follows:
