Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit Committee, Brian B. Cahill, and Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this Resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Ulster County Department of Public Transportation; and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County is a designated recipient of funding through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and as such, must comply with the rules and regulations promulgated by the FTA in order to continue to maintain its status as such; and

 

WHEREAS, 49 C.F.R. § 673, the FTA Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan Rule, which became effective on July 19, 2018, requires transit operators to develop a Safety Plan (PTASP) that addresses safety risk management and is based on the Safety Management System approach; and

 

 WHEREAS, the Ulster County Transportation Council (UCTC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization responsible for the comprehensive planning process for the Kingston and Poughkeepsie urbanized areas, has approved UCAT’s PTASP; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the UCAT PTASP is hereby adopted as attached hereto as Exhibit A,

                         

and move its adoption.
