Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit Committee, Brian B. Cahill, and Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the Ulster County Executive; and
WHEREAS, the salary as stated in the 2020 Ulster County Budget for the position of the Ulster County Director of Tourism is $80,219.00; and
WHEREAS, the Tourism industry is a significant driver of the County’s overall economy, has suffered substantial disruption from the COVID-19 pandemic, and requires business development support and extensive expertise in cultivating business in the industry; and
WHEREAS, in order to have an experienced person to fill this role and remain competitive in hiring, it is therefore necessary to increase the annual salary of the Director of Tourism from a 2020 annual salary of $80,219.00 to a 2020 annual salary of $100,630.00; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Director of Tourism 2020 annual salary is changed to $100,630.00,
RESOLVED, that the 2020 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
