Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been offered by the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office is the primary patrol of the Hudson River; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a FEMA Grant to purchase a “Navigation Vessel” to be able to expand patrol in the Hudson River and to assure more security to Ulster County residents; and

WHEREAS, the approved 2020-2025 Capital Improvement Program includes a project Navigation Response Vessel in the amount of $467,588.00 for such project; and

 WHEREAS, the Navigation Vessel purchased will be reimbursed by the Port Security Grant Program, FEMA up to $350,691.00 in consideration of the 25% match; and

WHEREAS, the County share will be $116,897.00 which can then be reimbursed up to 50% by NYS Parks and Recreation; and

WHEREAS, the final County share will be $58,448.50; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, that Capital Project ­567 – Navigation Response Vessel is hereby established as follows:
