Legislators Tracey Bartels, David B. Donaldson and Joseph Maloney offer the following:

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 323 dated August 14, 2018, set the date for the Public Hearing on Proposed Local Law No. 20 of 2018 (A Local Law Requiring Restaurants And Fast Food Service Establishments Provide Plastic Beverage Straws Solely Upon Request), to be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 7:10 PM in the Legislative Chambers, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York; and

WHEREAS, said Public Hearing was held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 7:10 PM in the Legislative Chambers, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York; and

WHEREAS, several amendments were made to the Proposed Local Law, and Resolution No. 400 of 2018 dated February 19, 2019, to set the date for the Public Hearing on Proposed Local Law No. 20 of 2018 as Amended to be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 6:00 PM in the Legislative Chambers, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York; and

WHEREAS, said Public Hearing was held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 6:00 PM in the Legislative Chambers, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York; and

WHEREAS, both Public Hearings were advertised in the official newspapers of the County of Ulster, and posted on the signboard maintained by the Clerk of the Legislature situated in the Ulster County Office Building; and

            WHEREAS, all parties in attendance were permitted an opportunity to speak on behalf of or in opposition to the Proposed Local Law; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that herein, Proposed Local Law No. 20 of 2018 as Amended is hereby adopted by the Ulster County Legislature, and, pending the approval of the County Executive, will be assigned a local law number consecutive to the last local law adopted and approved in 2019,

and move its adoption.
