Chairman of the Public Health and Social Services Committee, Craig V. Lopez, and

Deputy Chair Kathy Nolan offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Social Services; and

WHEREAS, Sections A3-4 (Y) and A2-6(A)(3) of the Administrative Code

provide that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature can, upon approval of the

County Legislature, enter into an inter-municipal agreement on behalf of the County

of Ulster; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Ulster County Department of Social

Services requests that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to

execute an Inter-Municipal Agreement with the New York State Department of

Health, Bureau of Early Intervention, for the period April 1, 2018 through March 31,

2023; and

WHEREAS, the mission of the Early Intervention Program is to identify and

evaluate as early as possible those infants and toddlers whose health and

development are compromised and provide appropriate therapeutic and support

services and interventions to improve child and family development, and; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is authorized

to execute the inter-municipal agreement, and any amendments thereto, with New

York State Department of Health, for the Early Intervention Services Program, for

the period beginning April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2023, in the form as filed with

the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the

County Attorney,

and move its adoption.
