Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit

Committee, James F. Maloney, and Deputy Chairman Hector Rodriguez offer the

following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Public Transportation; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Transportation was previously awarded the

following Mass Transportation Capital Project Grants for Federal Fiscal Year 2017:

1. Mass Transportation Capital Project NY-2016-045, Sections

5307/5339, Project Administration (PIN#8TRU14), Preventive Maintenance

(PIN#8TRU76) and two (2) less than 30’ buses (PIN#8TRU78)

2. Accelerated Transit Capital ATC-16-ULS-00 received to offset 10%

local Ulster County share paid by NYS DOT.

WHEREAS, these grants are funded at a rate of 80% Federal, 10% State and

10% local financing; and

WHEREAS, the Federal share and the local share of these projects were

previously administered and expended; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Transportation has received notification

that the New York State share is available; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute an agreement (Contract K7205, Supplemental Schedule 1) and

any amendments thereto, with the New York State Department of Transportation in

order to accept the New York State Share for Federal Fiscal Year 2017 Mass

Transportation Capital Projects, in the total amount of $355,278.00, in the form as

filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the

approval of the County Attorney; 

and move its adoption.
