Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning and Transit

Committee, Thomas J. Briggs, and Deputy Chairman James F. Maloney offer the

following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Planning; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County has been awarded a grant to conduct a Step 1

Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) Study by the New York State Department of

State and intends to complete a countywide Revitalization Opportunities Report, that

includes a description of clusters of brownfields and underutilized sites and

infrastructure to prioritize future brownfield opportunities, and allowing the County

and municipalities to move identified brownfield clusters into the BOA revitalization

and planning stage; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Planning has requested that the Chairman of

the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute a contract (NYS Contract

No.C1000188), and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Department

of State, for the period June 1, 2014 through December 31, 2015, to accomplish this

work that is anticipated to cost $225,190.00 with reimbursement in an amount up to

$202,671.00 with a County share of $22,519.00 met through the provision of in-kind

services; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 409 “Brownfield Area Opportunity

Study” is hereby established and the 2014-2019 Capital Program is amended as

follows:
