Chairman of the Economic Development, Planning, Education, Employment, Arts and Agriculture Committee, Brian B. Cahill, and Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, the New York State Homes and Community Renewal (NYSHCR) issues an annual Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the following programs: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), RESTORE, Affordable Homeownership Development Program (AHODP), Access to Home, and Access to Home for Medicaid Recipients Program as well as periodic special notices for additional programs; and

 

WHEREAS, NYSCHR has a continuing funding round that provides grants to communities that wish to sponsor economic development activities that create or retain jobs for low-to-moderate income persons with a goal to fund projects that result in high quality, full-time jobs that are well paying and provide benefits and training to low-to moderate-income persons; and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County is eligible to submit an application under the CDBG Economic Development Small Business Grant Program for $100,000.00 to assist the recipient, The Hudson House and Distillery, 1835 Route 9W, West Park, N.Y.12429, with the purchase of new commercial grade kitchen equipment to expand its commercial operations and, in so doing, commits to create at least 4 additional entry level positions that shall be made available to individuals from low-to-moderate income households; and  

 

WHEREAS, the CDBG Program requires an initial public hearing prior to submission of the full grant application; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that said public hearing will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 7:15 PM in the Legislative Chambers, Ulster County Office Building, 6th Floor, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York, and/or via videoconference to the extent allowable pursuant to existing New York State legislation, or order and the Rules of the Ulster County Legislature; and, be it further

 

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature shall cause a legal notice of said public hearing to be published according to law; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature shall provide copies of the hearing notice to all chief elected officials of municipalities within Ulster County,

 

and move its adoption.
