Chair of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Gina Hansut offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has requested a full time Officer from the Town of Saugerties be assigned to the Sheriff’s O.R.A.C.L.E. Team as trainee; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Saugerties will be reimbursed the Officer’s salary through the Office of Justice Programs Grant awarded to the Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $107,922.00 per year, for a term of three (3) years, not-to-exceed $323,766.00 for the term of the Contract; and

WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall be October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2025; now, therefore be it

 RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Town of Saugerties to provide an Officer to serve with the Sheriff’s O.R.A.C.L.E. Team as a Training Officer for the term October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2025, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney in consultation with the Chair of the Legislature and the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee,  

and moves its adoption.
