Chair of the Legislature, Tracey A. Bartels, offers the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Health (DOH); and

 

WHEREAS, the Deputy Medical Examiner (Medicolegal Investigation) will be responsible for overseeing the 24/7 independent investigations of death in Ulster County which occurred without medical attendance or which resulted from accidental, suicidal, criminal, suspicious or undetermined causes; and

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Health requests the 2022 Ulster County Budget be amended to include an additional Deputy Medical Examiner (Medicolegal Investigation) position; and

 

WHEREAS, DOH currently has positions for  (1) full-time Medical Examiner, (2) part-time Deputy Medical Examiner and (1) full-time Deputy Medical Examiner (Medicolegal Investigation); and 

 

WHEREAS, in order to reflect this, an amendment of the 2022 budget is necessary; now, therefore be it 

 

RESOLVED, that the 2022 County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
