Chair of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County, in desiring to develop affordable home ownership utilizing properties it acquires from the tax foreclosure process, has identified seven (7) properties as meeting the needs of this program; and

 

WHEREAS, the County has circulated a Request for Expression on Interest for the seven parcels and has received a response for the development of five (5) of these parcels as noted below:

 

40 Grand St in Lloyd (Highland) – Tax ID # 88.13-12-11.100

25 Mile Hill Rd in Lloyd (Highland) – Tax ID # 88.17-5-23

5 Appletree St in the Town of Saugerties – Tax ID # 18.77-7-58

245 Upper North Rd in Lloyd (Highland) – Tax ID # 87.8-1-5

597 Route 44-55 in Plattekill – Tax ID # 95.1-3-32.1; and

 

WHEREAS, a Public Hearing is required to be held pursuant to Section 141l(d) of the Not-for-Profit Law of the State of New York to consider the advisability of adoption of a resolution authorizing the sale and/or transfer of five (5) properties owned by Ulster County as noted above to the Ulster County Housing Development Corporation, a local development corporation for the purposes of rehabilitation and sale of these properties as part of the County’s affordable homeownership program; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature shall act in accordance with Section 141l(d) of the Not-for-Profit Law of the State of New York to cause a legal notice of said Public Hearing to be published; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that said Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 7:05 PM, in the Legislative Chambers, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York,

 

and move its adoption.
