Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Abe Uchitelle, and Deputy Chair Gina Hansut offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Acting County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management has received notification from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding the 2021-2022 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Operations Grant; and

 

WHEREAS, the County Executive and the Director of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for the contract period from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022, in the amount of $119,511.00; and     

         

WHEREAS, the purpose of this program is to sustain ongoing operations and improvements of public safety answering points; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for participation in the 2021-2022 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Operations Grant, in the amount of $119,511.00, as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney, Chair of the Ulster County Legislature, and the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee; and be it further,

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that if funding for this program is eliminated, the Commissioner of Finance shall, immediately upon discovery, send written notification to the Clerk of the Legislature, and the relevant Department Head shall attend the next regular meeting of the Ways and Means Committee to assist the Committee in review and evaluation for determination of the program’s continuance,

 

and move its adoption.
