Chairman of the Economic Development, Planning, Education, Employment, Arts and Agriculture Committee, Brian B. Cahill, and Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets has notified Ulster County that Agricultural District No. 4 in the Towns of Hurley, Kingston, Marbletown, Olive, Saugerties, Shandaken, Ulster, Woodstock, and the City of Kingston is approaching its eight-year anniversary date of March 13, 2023; and

 

WHEREAS, Agricultural Markets Law Article 25AA requires the County to cause a review of the District to be conducted and completed within 300 days; and

 

WHEREAS, as part of the review, Agricultural Markets Law Article 25AA requires a Public Hearing to be held concerning the review of the district and any proposed modifications to the district; and

 

WHEREAS, Agricultural Markets Law Article 25AA requires that the Public Hearing be held before the county legislative body makes a finding on whether the District should be continued, terminated or modified; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that said public hearing will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 7:15 PM in the Legislative Chambers, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair

Street, Kingston, New York, and/or via videoconference to the extent allowable pursuant to existing New York State legislation, or order and the Rules of the Ulster County Legislature; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature shall cause legal

notice of said Public Hearing to be published according to law; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature shall provide in writing to all affected municipalities a copy of the hearing notice,

 

and move its adoption.
