Chair of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Social Services; and

 

WHEREAS, Sections A3-4 (Y) and A2-6(A)(3) of the Administrative Code provide that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature can, upon approval of the County Legislature, enter into an inter-municipal agreement on behalf of the County of Ulster; and

 

WHEREAS, the funds will be used by the Department of Social Service to continue enhances services to child and non-offending adult victims of domestic violence and child victims of sexual abuse and/or serious physical abuse; and

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Ulster County Department of Social Services requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into an Agreement (NYS Contract # C11401GG), and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Office of Victim Services to receive funding in the amount of $315,184.71 for the VOCA Victim And Witness Assistance Grant Program, for the contract period October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2025; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to reflect the increased funding, an amendment of the 2022 budget is necessary; and

 

WHEREAS, no additional County contribution or matching funding is required other than has been budgeted; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement and any amendments thereto with the New York State OVS to receive funding in the amount of $315,184.71 for the VOCA Victim And Witness Assistance Grant Program, for the term beginning October 1, 2022 through

 

 

September 30, 2025, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the 2022 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
