Chair of the Legislature, Tracey A. Bartels, Chairman of the Laws, Rules and Government Services Committee, Jonathan R. Heppner, and Chairman of the Economic Development, Planning, Education, Employment, Arts and Agriculture Committee, Brian B. Cahill, offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County is administering $1,000,000.00 under the Economic Development and Small Business Assistance Program that utilizes Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds administered by the New York State Office of Homes and Community Renewal (OCR); and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to the CDBG CARES grant request, low-to-moderate income small businesses in Ulster County will utilize these funds for a variety of purposes including working capital, permanent machinery and equipment, interior renovations, rent subsidies, and soft costs; and  

 

WHEREAS, prior to the submittal of the grant application, and consistent with Federal Requirements found in 24 CFR 570.486, a public hearing was held on May 18, 2021 at 7:05 pm to seek direction and comments on the application; and

 

WHEREAS, participation in the CDBG Program requires a second public hearing to allow the public an opportunity to comment on the implementation of CDBG-funded activities; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, a public hearing on the administration of the Ulster County CARES Small Business Assistance Program to assist small businesses in Ulster County will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 7:00 PM in the Legislative Chambers, Ulster County Office Building, 6th Floor, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York, and/or via videoconference to the extent allowable pursuant to existing New York State legislation, or order and the Rules of the Ulster County Legislature; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature shall cause a legal notice of said public hearing to be published according to law,

 

and move its adoption.
