Chairman of the ARPA Special Committee, Peter J. Criswell, and Deputy Chair Thomas Corcoran, Jr. offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution No. 333 on August 2021 creating Capital Project No. 601, entitled “ARP Small Business and Economic Recovery”, to provide direct financial assistance to Ulster County’s most vulnerable businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 333 resolved that funding for capital project number 601 shall be subject to the further approval of the Ulster County Legislature; and

 

WHEREAS, the small business community continues to experience the adverse economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic; and

 

WHEREAS, the CARES act grant program previously approved and funded by the Legislature has expended all available funds and has demonstrated a broader need by the small businesses in Ulster County;

 

WHEREAS, $1,000,000.00 is currently needed as funding for funding Round 2 of the “Ulster County Cares Small Business Assistance Program;” now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the 2022 Ulster County Capital Fund is hereby amended as follows:
