Chair of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

           

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Health, and

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Health requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute a contract (Contract No. DOH01-C37022GG-3450000), and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Department of Health to participate in the Childhood Lead Poisoning Primary Prevention Program, for the period October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2026, in the amount of $1,703,500.00; and

 

WHEREAS, funding will be used to support and enhance local efforts to target multi-family, non-owner-occupied, pre-1978 dwellings in the City of Kingston where children ages six and under reside; and

 

WHEREAS, to accomplish the program’s objectives, community partnerships will be developed, and these partners will provide public outreach and education and assist in identifying residents who may qualify for risk assessments for lead; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is authorized to execute a contract (Contract No. DOH01-C37022GG-3450000), and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Department of Health to participate in the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, for the period October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2026, in the amount of $1,703,500.00, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, if funding for this program is eliminated, the program will be eliminated as well,

 

and move its adoption.
