Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section C-26(A) of the Ulster County Charter and Section A3-5(A) of the Administrative Code: “Appointment of department heads. Except as otherwise provided in this Charter, the County Executive shall appoint, to serve at his or her pleasure during his or her term of service, or for such term as may be specified in this Charter, the head of every department or other administrative unit not administered by an elective official;” and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section C-26(B) of the Ulster County Charter and Section A3-5(B) of the Administrative Code: “Appointment of department heads.  The appointment by the County Executive of the head of each department or other administrative unit shall be subject to the confirmation by the County Legislature by vote of a majority of the whole number of members elected to that body, taken at a regular or special meeting;” and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to aforementioned sections of the Ulster County Charter and the Administrative Code, the County Executive has appointed Loren Johnson to the position of Director of the Department of Public Transportation for the County of Ulster; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby confirms the appointment of Loren Johnson to the position of Director of the Department of Public Transportation for the County of Ulster,

 

and moves its adoption.
