Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit Committee, Brian B. Cahill, and Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this Resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Office of Employment and Training; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Office of Employment and Training requests that the Chair of the Legislature be authorized to sign On-the-Job Training Contracts with various municipalities for the On-the-Job Training program; and

 

WHEREAS, the On-the-Job Training program allows a new hire to learn how to perform needed tasks or skills by actually doing them, while receiving guidance from an experienced coworker, supervisor or manager; and

 

WHEREAS, the municipality is then reimbursed between 50% and 90% of the wages paid during the agreed training period based up the specific criteria of each program and funding source; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to enter into intermunicipal contracts with various municipalities for the On-the-Job Training program for the Ulster County Office of Employment and Training, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

 

and move its adoption.
