Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes offer the following:

 

            WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County District Attorney; and

           

            WHEREAS, the District Attorney’s Office was previously awarded a grant to fund expenses related to the implementation of the Discovery and Bail Reform, including reimbursement of expenses incurred by the local police agencies; and

 

            WHEREAS, twelve police agencies (Village of Ellenville, City of Kingston, Town of Lloyd, Town of Marlborough, Town of New Paltz, Town of Olive, Town of Plattekill, Town of Rosendale, Town of Saugerties, Town of Shawangunk, Town of Ulster, Town of Woodstock) have been identified for reimbursement under the direction of the District Attorney’s Office for the purpose of funding expenses related to the implementation of the Discovery and Bail Reform; and

           

            WHEREAS, the Ulster County District Attorney is requesting $180,491.00 be appropriated from the District Attorney’s State Aid Other Public Safety fund balance for the purpose of reimbursing the twelve various municipalities participating as per agreements (Village of Ellenville, City of Kingston, Town of Lloyd, Town of Marlborough, Town of New Paltz, Town of Olive, Town of Plattekill, Town of Rosendale, Town of Saugerties, Town of Shawangunk, Town of Ulster, Town of Woodstock) and the District Attorney’s Office Discovery expenses; and

 

WHEREAS, these funds will be directed as follows: 

 

Ellenville Police Department $7,061.00

Kingston Police Department $22,937.00

Lloyd Police Department $2,120.00

            Marlborough Police Department $14,409.00

            New Paltz Police Department $5,960.00

            Olive Police Department $3,400.00

            Plattekill Police Department $2,800.00

           

 

Rosendale Police Department $10,304.00

            Saugerties Police Department $14,728.00

            Shawangunk Police Department $1,969.00

            Ulster Police Department $7,827.00

            Woodstock Police Department $623.00

            Ulster County District Attorney $86,353.00

 

now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute inter-municipal agreements with the above-mentioned agencies for the amounts indicated; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the 2021 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
