Referred to: The Public Works and Capital Projects Committee (Chairman Fabiano and Legislators Cahill, Greene, Heppner, and Litts), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairman Gavaris and Legislators Archer, Bartels, Haynes, Maio, Parete, Ronk, and Walter)
Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and Deputy Chair Manna Jo Greene offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, Ulster County is willing to continue performing maintenance of certain roads around New York City Reservoirs located in Ulster County for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection; and
WHEREAS, the Contract has a not-to-exceed amount of $1,500,000.00 to reimburse the County over the five-year term of the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Ulster County Department of Public Works has the equipment and manpower necessary to accommodate the Contract obligations; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an inter-municipal agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, to allow DPW to continue road maintenance on New York City roads around the Ashokan Reservoir, for the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2026, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified and approved by the County Attorney,
and move its adoption.
