Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Sheriff; and

 

WHEREAS, the salary as stated in the 2021 Ulster County Budget for the position of Opioid Use Disorder Systems Specialist is $ 62,972.00; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office was awarded $ 900,000.00 in COSSAP Grant funds for the term of 10/1/2020-9/30/2023 to cover the expenses and salaries of the program; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to remain competitive in hiring, and have an experienced person to fill this position, is necessary to increase the annual salary of the Opioid Use Disorder Systems Specialist by $9,022.00; and

 

WHERERAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has reallocated salary funds within the COSSAP Grant to cover this cost, a grant modification was not needed due to the overall grant amount staying $900,000.00; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Opioid Use Disorder Systems Specialist 2021 annual salary is changed to $ 71,994.00 effective upon hire date,

 

and move its adoption.
