Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections C-25 (A) of the Ulster County Charter and Section A3-4 (A) of the Administrative Code, the County Executive has the power and duty to appoint department heads; and

 

            WHEREAS, pursuant to Section C-77 of the Ulster County Charter and Section A25-1 (A) of the Administrative Code, the County Executive has appointed                                                      Ruth Boyer to the position of Public Defender; and

 

WHEREAS, further pursuant to Sections C-77 of the Ulster County Charter and Sections A25-1 (A) of the Administrative Code, the above-referenced appointment is subject to confirmation by the Ulster County Legislature; now, therefore, be it

           

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby confirms the appointment of Ruth Boyer to the position of Public Defender,

 

and move its adoption.
