Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and Deputy Chair Manna Jo Greene offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 309, dated July 17, 2018, the County amended a lease agreement for the Ulster County Public Defender’s Office to include an additional 338 square feet of office space; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Public Defender’s Office desires new available efficient and viable office space of 1,364 square feet increasing the total square footage to 6,183 square feet on the second and third floors of 280-284 Wall Street in the City of Kingston; and 

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has requested to renew the lease agreement with CPR Associates, LLC, for a five (5) year term commencing October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2025, at an annual cost of $108,202.50 for the first year with a 3% increase for the following four years; and

 

WHEREAS, the lease shall contain a one-time upfront payment to renovate the space at a cost of $24,120.52; and

 

WHEREAS, the Public Defender’s office is applying for grant funding, inclusive of the Hurrell-Herring Grant, which will offset 100% of the County cost of the lease; and

 

WHEREAS, the lease shall contain a clause which will allow the tenant, County of Ulster, the option to terminate the Lease at will upon a sixty (60) day written notice to landlord, CPR Associates, LLC; now, therefore be it

 

 

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to enter into a lease agreement with CPR Associates, LLC for 6,183 square feet of office space for the Public Defender located at 280-284 Wall Street, Kingston, N.Y. as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified and approved by the County Attorney,

 

and move its adoption.
