Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the Ulster County Sheriff; and

 

WHEREAS, the Live Scan Upgrade is a NCIC/DCJS mandated upgrade; Live Scan is used to scan fingerprints for all arrests in the Sheriff’s Office, local police departments and the Ulster County Jail; and

      

WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office has requested that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for the purpose of participating in a Live Scan Grant for the period beginning April 01, 2020 and ending June 30, 2021; and

 

WHEREAS, the Live Scan Grant provides funding in the amount of $70,000.00 to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement and any related amendments with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for the a Live Scan Grant in the amount of $ 70,000.00, for the period beginning April 1, 2020 and ending June 30, 2021, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, if funding for this program is eliminated, the program will be eliminated as well,

 

and move its adoption.
