Chairwoman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature enacted Local Law No. 9 of 2015, A Local Law Establishing a Sustainable Green Fleet Policy, which established the policy of the County to purchase the most energy efficient and cost-effective vehicles possible; and
WHEREAS, the Department of the Environment, in consultation with the Department of Public Works and in response to a rebate/grant program issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (“NYSDEC”) for the 2018 Municipal Zero-emission Vehicle (ZEV) & ZEV Infrastructure Rebate Program, applied for and was awarded rebates totaling $27,500 for the purchase of ZEV vehicles; and
WHEREAS, ten (10) qualifying vehicles were purchased; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into an agreement with NYSDEC for the 2018 Municipal Zero-emission Vehicle (ZEV) & ZEV Infrastructure Rebate Program, in the amount of $27,500.00; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement and any related amendments with NYSDEC for the purpose of accepting the rebates totaling $27,500.00 for the purchase of ZEV vehicles, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,
and move its adoption.
