Chairman of the Public Health and Social Services Committee, Craig V. Lopez, and Deputy Chair Kathy Nolan offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Social Services; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Department of Social Services has received notification from the New York State Office of Victim Services (“OVS”) of an award of funding under the Victim and Witness Assistance Grant Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Ulster County Department of Social Services requests that the Chairperson of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into an Agreement with OVS toreceivefundingintheamountof $350,961fortheVictims of Crime Act (“VOCA”) grant for the term beginning October 1, 2019 and ending September 30, 2022;and

 

            WHEREAS, the funds will be used exclusively to enhance the services offered to child and adult victims of domestic violence, child victims of sexual abuse, and child victims of serious physical abuse who receive services through the County’s Family and Child Advocacy Center; and

 

            WHEREAS, in order to reflect the increased funding an amendment of the 2019 budget is necessary; and

 

            WHEREAS, no additional County contribution or matching funding is required other than what has been budgeted; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED,thattheChairofthe UlsterCounty Legislatureishereby authorizedtoenterintoan Agreementandany related amendments with OVS to receive funding in the amount of $350,961 for the VOCA grant,fortheterm beginning October 1, 2019 and ending September 30, 3022,in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislatureor as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further

 

           

 

 

RESOLVED, that the 2019 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
