Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit Committee, Brian J. Woltman, and Deputy Chair Lynn Archer offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this Resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT); and

 

WHEREAS, Ulster County is a designated recipient of funding through the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Rural Transportation Assistance Program-Section 5311(b)(3), which the New York State Department of Transportation transferred to Urbanized Area Formula Grants-Section 5307 Program on May 30, 2018; and

 

WHEREAS, funding from this grant would allow UCAT to purchase one (1) 35’ low-floor diesel bus and associated spare parts to replace a bus in UCAT’s fleet that will reach the end of its useful life; and

 

 WHEREAS, the cost to purchase the bus will be borne up to the following ratio: 80% Federal Share ($464,134.00), 10% New York Share ($58,017.00) and 10% Ulster County Share ($58,017.00); now, therefore, be it

 

 RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby authorizes the execution of a grant application and the submission of any required documents to the FTA for Rural Transportation Assistance Program-Section 5311(b)(3), in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,
