Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit Committee, Brian J. Woltman, and Deputy Chair Lynn Archer offer the following:

 

           WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the Acting County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Transportation; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 139 dated April 16, 2019, the City of Kingston (the “City”) and the County entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (the “MOA”) that will effectuate dissolution of Citi-Bus and the expansion of transit service within the City of Kingston by Ulster County Area Transit (“UCAT”); and

 

WHEREAS, the MOA requires the transfer of transit rolling stock to Ulster County to provide for the expansion of service, and the continued use for public transit purposes of certain existing transit facilities owned by the City that include bus storage and bus wash facilities as well as access gate and bus shelters within the City of Kingston; and 

 

WHEREAS, the City and the County wish to provide for the continuing public transit use of these existing transit facilities through a license agreement between the City and County to assist UCAT in its expansion of service within the City; and

 

WHEREAS, the City and the County have agreed to an annual compensation to the City for the use of these facilities of $12,000.00 for a period of five (5) years; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute a license agreement and any related amendments with the City of Kingston, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

 

 

 

and move its adoption.
