Fabiano and Legislators Greene, Litts, Loughran, and Maloney), and The Ways and
Means Committee (Chairman Gerentine and Legislators Allen, Bartels, Belfiglio,
Briggs, Maio, and Maloney)
Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit
Committee, James F. Maloney, and Deputy Chairman Hector Rodriguez offer the
following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on
behalf of Ulster County Area Transportation (UCAT); and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 343 of August 15, 2017 authorized the County
Executive to apply, accept, and administer $1,551,311 in grant funding through the
Public Transportation Modernization and Enhancement Program; and
WHEREAS, UCAT will allocate $599,940 of such funding for equipment and
facility upgrades; and
WHEREAS, such funding will be used to install a bus wash to prolong the
useful life of the County’s fleet at an estimated cost of $180,000, purchase and install
and electronic fare collection system at an estimated cost of $275,000, install
informational kiosks at an estimated cost of $5,000, and repave Ulster County Area
Transit’s parking lot at an estimated cost of $139,940; and
WHEREAS, no County contribution or matching funding is required; now
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the 2017-2022 Ulster County Capital Improvement
Program is hereby amended as follows:

and be it further;
RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 513 is hereby established as follows:
CREATE AMOUNT
Capital Project No. 513 Equipment and Facility Upgrades $599,940
and be it further;
RESOLVED, the 2017 Ulster County Capital Fund Budget is hereby
amended as follows:
