Chairman Kenneth J. Ronk, Jr. and Legislator Heppner offer the following:

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature requested State legislation to allow

the County to regulate the registration and licensing of taxicabs, limousines and

livery vehicles; and

WHEREAS, such legislation has now been introduced as Senate Bill No.

S5301A and Assembly Bill No. A7480A so that a formal Home Rule Request is now

appropriate; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the County Executive and/or the Clerk of the Ulster County

Legislature are hereby authorized to execute and submit a Home Rule Request

(Request by a Local Government for Enactment of a Special Law), pursuant to

Article IX of the Constitution, requesting the enactment of Senate Bill No. S5301A

and Assembly Bill No. A7480A entitled “An act to amend the general municipal law

and the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to authorizing the county of Ulster to

regulate the registration and licensing of taxicabs, limousines and livery vehicles,”

and move its adoption.
