Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit

Committee, James F. Maloney, and Deputy Chairman Hector Rodriguez offer the

following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Planning; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County was the recipient of a Community Development

Block Grant (CDBG) administered by the New York State Office of Community

Renewal to provide funding for low and moderate income households to achieve

homeownership; and

WHEREAS, participation in this program requires two public hearings; the

first being to seek direction and comments on the application for funding and the

second to allow the public an opportunity to comment on its implementation; and

WHEREAS, the County held the first of two required public hearings on the

Achieving Homeownership in Ulster County Program on December 10, 2013, prior

to submitting its application; and

 

WHEREAS, the County, through its sub-recipient RUPCO, has implemented

much of the CDBG funded Achieving Homeownership in Ulster County Program

making it appropriate for holding the required second public hearing; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is authorized

to call such a public hearing no later than April 12, 2016; and, be it further

RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature shall cause a

legal notice of said public hearing to be published according to law; and, be it further

RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature shall provide a

copy of the written notice of hearing to all municipalities within Ulster County, 

 

and move its adoption.
