Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

 

          WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Executive on behalf of the Emergency Communications / Emergency Management; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2025-2030 Capital Program includes the cost of the acquisition of a Mobile Command Vehicle; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mobile Command Vehicle is a specialize vehicle to serve as a mobile command center during major incidents and disasters; and

 

WHEREAS, the mobile command vehicle will provide a secure, self-contained, and technologically-enabled platform to coordinate emergency response efforts in the field; and

 

WHEREAS, the mobile command vehicle would be outfitted with communications equipment, data processing capabilities, and workspace for incident command staff; and

 

WHEREAS, the mobility of the vehicle would allow the command center to be rapidly deployed to the scene of an emergency, improving coordination and response times; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mobile Command Vehicle quote has come in at $2,607,919.83 custom built for the Ulster County Department of Emergency Communications / Emergency Management needs plus a 10% contingency of $260,792.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the Adopted 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Program includes the amount of $3,000,000.00 for purchase of the Mobile Command Vehicle; now therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 717 for the Emergency Communications / Emergency Management Mobile Command Vehicle be established as follows:

and, be it further,

 

RESOLVED, that the 2025 Ulster County Capital Fund is hereby amended as follows:
