Jason is a lifelong resident of Ulster County. A graduate of Kingston High School, SUNY Binghamton, and Syracuse University College of Law, since 2004 Jason has practiced law with the firm of Rusk, Wadlin, Heppner & Martuscello, LLP, Ulster County’s oldest law firm. His areas of practice include real estate, trusts and estates, bankruptcy, and municipal law. Jason serves as town attorney for several towns in the Hudson Valley. Active in the community, Jason has served as Town of Ulster Library Trustee (2004-2007 and 2020-2023), a Saugerties AYSO Soccer Coach, a Cub Scout Den Leader, President of the Ulster County Bar Association, and as an officer of Kingston Council No. 275, Knights of Columbus.

As a legislator, Jason supports an increased emphasis by the Ulster County government to meet the needs of the First Responder community, and he will continue to advocate for openness, transparency, and accountability from the Ulster County government.
