Legislator Eric Stewart and Chairman of the ARPA Special Committee, Thomas Corcoran, Jr., and Deputy Chair Megan Sperry offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance, Division of Recovery and Resilience; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution No. 289 of 2022 amending and funding capital project Number 635 in the amount of two million dollars ($2,000,000.00) to create a program to partner with Ulster County municipalities and match up to 50% of park and recreation projects with a maximum contribution of $100,000.00 per municipality; and

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Town of Marbletown (the “Town”) desire to enter into an Intermunicipal Agreement (IMA) where the Town will be a subrecipient of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) of American Rescue Plan Act – Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF); and

 

WHEREAS the Town will be responsible under the IMA for administering a program to construct Grady Park and High Falls Gateway Improvements that will provide walkways and public spaces while preserving the remains of two D & H canal locks on the park site; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the Inter Municipal Agreement with the Town of Marbletown to partially fund the creation of Grady Park and High Falls Gateway Improvements in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,    

 

and moves its adoption.
