Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Sheriff; and
WHEREAS, the Kingston City School District has requested a Deputy Sheriff be assigned as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at the Miller Middle School as requested by the District; and
WHEREAS, the Kingston City School District will pay Ulster County an amount not less than $116,352.00 for the services of the Deputy Sheriff assigned as the School Resource Officer; and
WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall be September 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Kingston City School District to provide a Deputy Sheriff to serve as a School Resource Officer for the term September 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney and Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature,
and move its adoption.
