Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean Fabiano offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 

WHEREAS, Capital Project No. 519 was established pursuant to Resolution No. 95 dated March 20, 2018, in the amount of $250,000.00 for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects at the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 359 dated September 20, 2018 amended Capital Project No. 519 to include funds for a flex tech study, in the amount of $31,000.00, bringing the total project cost to $281,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 203 dated May 21, 2019 amended Capital Project No. 519 to include funds for a natural gas line extension from County Route 32 to the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center, in the amount of $242,000.00, bringing the total project cost to $523,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 40 dated February 18, 2020 amended Capital Project No. 519 to include funds for construction of piping from the new natural gas main to the boilers at the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center, in the amount of $108,000.00, bringing the total project cost to $631,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 449 dated December 15, 2020 amended Capital Project No. 519 to include funds for design of replacement boilers at the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center, in the amount of $54,000.00, bringing the total project cost to $685,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 363 dated August 17, 2021 amended Capital Project No. 519 to include additional funds for design of replacement boilers at the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center, in the amount of $39,800.00, for a total design cost of $93,800.00 bringing the total project cost to $724,800.00; and

 

 

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project

No. 519 be amended to increase the funding available for construction services for a mechanical refrigeration project in the amount of $175,000.00 for a total project cost of $899,800.00; and

 

WHEREAS, replacement of refrigeration coolers and freezers with outdoor condensers mounted on the roof and a new power distribution from an existing power panel to the new refrigerators, freezers and the exterior condensers is required to maintain the safety of both employees and inmates in the facility; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 519 for UCLEC Energy Upgrades be amended as follows:
